A CANDLE TO SET THE MOOD

EVERY ONE UNIQUE TO YOU

Every candle made at Skyelight is individually handmade and unique. Please bear this in mind when you order as the photographs are a representation rather than a shot of what you will receive. If you have any specific requirements for an event or just a preference please let us know and your candles can be made to order. For example usually the series candles come unscented, but scents can be added if you wish. The colours can be changed to suit an event or home colour scheme. Please let us know by email if you wish to take advantage of these choices.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL CANDLES

Please take a couple of minutes to read our top tips for burning candles safely and how to get the best out of your candles.

If you have any problems with your candles please get in touch and we will make every attempt to put things right.

Always check any labels and warnings that come with the candle or candle holder.

Use a suitable non-flammable holder.

Ensure the candle is standing upright in the holder and is stable before lighting. To get the best from your candle always make the first burning last at least one hour for pillar candles. This ensures a good burn on all subsequent lightings and your candle will last longer.

Always place candle or candle holders on a surface that will not get damaged by heat.

Do not move candles whilst still lit or when wax is still liquid.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Remove all packaging before use and trim wick to approx 5 mm or 1/4 inch.

Always make sure the wick is trimmed to 5 mm or 1/4 inch before lighting or relighting.

If the candle starts to smoke, extinguish it and trim the wick as above. If the candle does not burn properly then this is usually due to the wrong size wick having been used in the manufacture. If this happens with one of our candles then get in touch with us straight away in order that we can put things right for you.

Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Extinguish candles with a candle snuffer. Do not blow them out. If you do have to blow them out, make sure your hand is cupped round the back of the flame to stop any sparks flying on to your table or carpet.

Never use water to extinguish a candle.

Allow headroom above the candle for heat to disperse.

Ensure candles are burned away from flammable items.

Candles should be burned away from other sources of heat, such as televisions and direct sunlight.

Candles should always be burned in an area free from draughts.

If you place a candle in the window and the sun shines in, you are likely to end up with either a melted candle or a faded one! The same applies to putting a candle anywhere near an open fire or even an electric heater.

TEALIGHTS

Tealights are ideal for lanterns or holders which have holes in them, as the tealight case will hold the wax as it melts.

Place tealight holders on a surface that will not be damaged by heat

Do not burn on a television or any other warm place.

Any receptacle which has a tealight burning in it will become extremely hot and must be left to cool before trying to move or pick up.

GLASS, TIN or CERAMIC HOLDERS

Place on a surface that will not be damaged by heat.

Do not use if the container is cracked, chipped or scratched.

Never let the flame come into contact with the container.

Do not move candle when lit.

Discontinue use when 5 mm or 1/4 inch of wax remains.
